About Me
Sarah Clemens is a writer currently attending Oakland School for the Arts (OSA). To her writing is less of a passion, and more of an essential need. She first became a published author at thirteen, when her poem "Quills & Parchment" was published in Teen Ink's print magazine. In the years since, she's continued to hone her craft, studying different ways of writing in OSA's literary emphasis (including contributing to the school's newspaper, the OSA Telegraph), as well as acing all of Academic Talent Development Program's (ATDP) college-level writing courses. This year she became a recipient of ATDP's Distinguished Scholar award in recognition of how long she's been attending. Most recently she's begun a paid internship for local paper The Oakland Post, one of the area's longest running papers. Sarah's wide-ranging work for the paper (concert reviews, news articles, interviews) mirrors her wide-ranging styles of writing. You can read samples of each on this site. She has two cats, their names are Spencer and Tigger.
